Renewal Requirements

What the JBCC requires every two years

Before relying on any renewal summary, confirm the current requirements through the JBCC. The planned course is being developed around the following general renewal topics:

  • 8 hours of approved continuing education during your two-year certification period.
  • 2 of those hours must be ethics education. Ethics hours cannot be carried forward.
  • Up to 4 excess non-ethics hours may carry forward to your next certification period.
  • Keep your certificates for 3 years — you'll upload them with your online renewal application.
  • Renew on time. Late renewal means higher fees, and certification expired over one year becomes permanently invalid.

Renewals are submitted through the JBCC online certification system.

Your Instructor

Built from field experience

Certified 4 Texas is being developed by a former Texas process server with experience handling a high-volume caseload across Jefferson and Hardin Counties. The goal is to connect legal requirements with the judgment calls, documentation, and professional standards involved in day-to-day service.

Course materials are being reviewed against the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, applicable statutes, JBCC rules, ethics standards, and relevant case law before launch.
